Reception Blog 29.3.19

Well done everyone, you are all working so hard. Remember to keep reading at home and ask a grown up to write in your book for you.
Next week is our last week before the Easter Break, school finishes at the normal time on Friday.
We have parents evening on Thursday so school will finish at 1.00pm.
If you haven’t already done so please book at appointment.

Have a lovely weekend, Happy Mother’s Day and enjoy the sunshine.

This Week’s Learning

This week we have been thinking about fishy facts and the children have shared their own knowledge as well as finding out about other fish and sea creatures.

We have all made Mother’s day cards and had a go at writing independently, we hope you like them.

In maths we have been counting out loud to 20, ordering numbers and having a go at adding 2 groups. We have even been working on number sentences!

For homework the children have sight words to have a go at reading, please keep the words at home to practise and have a go at writing a sentence using the words if you can.

We all enjoy watching Jack Hartman and his counting on Youtube, if you can find it you can get fit while counting!

Next Week’s Learning

Next week our story is Lost and Found, all about a little boy who goes on an adventure with his friend the penguin. They go all the way to the South Pole in a rowing boat. We will be thinking about writing our own adventures. I wonder who will be knocking on our door to go on an adventure?

In maths we are focussing on problem solving and will be doubling and halving numbers to 10 and then 20. We will start to focus on sharing objects into groups.

In art we will be making Easter cards and designing Easter eggs.
